The Reverend Jennifer Lilburn
Minister, August 26, 2001 -
Jennifer was born and grew up in Rossland, British Columbia, the second of four children - and the only daughter. She lived surrounded by forests and beautiful mountains. To Jennifer, God was most evident in the beauty of the earth.

She attended the United Church of Canada, a Protestant denomination. After a while, she noticed that when her Sunday school let out at 10 AM, the Gospel Hall she passed on the way home was just starting its service. So she made a habit of attending it too. During this time she read the Bible from cover to cover twice, searching for her spiritual path, in her own way.

After secondary school, she attended Selkirk College, and then transferred to the University of British Columbia, where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry in 1971. She then went to MIT, where she met Dan Cox. They married in 1975, and she received a Doctorate in Chemistry in 1976.

She and her husband moved to the East Bay and she began working for Chevron. She enjoyed her career of 16 years there, leaving when their youngest child was a year old. They are the parents of three children.

She says, "In 1988, we felt the need to renew ourselves spiritually, and so went church-shopping. We came to the Temple in that year and have stayed ever since. I deeply appreciate the teaching and examples of spiritual living here. "

Having completed all the requirements for ordination as a minister, Jennifer was ordained in 2000. She has sung in the choir, been a member of a prayer group, worked in the prayer ministry, and taught classes for several years.

She says, "Learning that we are unlimited spiritual beings has changed my life experience. My family and loved ones have experienced blessings and healing. I appreciate their love and support as I follow this path. Father-Mother-God holds us gently as we all move forward, and I am grateful."
