Meditating

On the first Wednesday of every month we have a "Prayer for the World" service at 7:30 p.m. We know prayer really works. We see so many good reports in the Healing Ministry. In truth, all our work is accomplished in The Silence - in meditation. We invite you to join us once a month in this prayer work.

You may be wishing to be helped out of difficulties, or you may be wishing to help others. It makes no difference. You will find you are helped as you bless others in our world.

As it says in Matthew 18:19-20: Again I say unto you, that if two or you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
You do not need to be physically present to join us in consciousness. You will find that this form of meditation, in addition to helping the world, helps you.
Here is a brief description of how we meditate and the thoughts we choose during this time:
  • Sit comfortably with both feet on the floor, letting your hands rest loosely in your lap. Should you feel tense, go through a systematic relaxation of your muscles, starting with your forehead, going through other parts of your face to your neck, shoulders, arms, etc., all the way to your toes.
  • Breathe in the peace of the evening, breathe out hurry.
  • Breathe in peace, breathe out stress.
  • Let your thoughts slow down; and let your attention turn within.
  • Rest in the Presence, allowing yourself to feel your own peace. It can never be taken away from you.

Prayer for our World

  • 7:40 p.m. - We always begin with ourselves. We take time to feel the Presence within and to accept inner peace as our birthright. Just rest in it. Then take the following meditation thought for November:
    • "I look with wonder at that which is before me. You choose for me peace and prosperity. Thank you, god, for endless blessings."
  • or for December:
    • "I feel the Presence of the Lord growing in me. I let myself be blessed with the Love of God."
  • for January
    • "I let the Christ Consciousness in me lead me into my own: peaceful, prosperous, happy experiences."

  • 7:45 p.m. - Next, we bring in the thought of one other soul, knowing this one is also God's child and also carries the loving, guiding Presence within. Again, we rest in the Presence, feeling peace.
  • As we do this meditation we do not try to visualize or use force to think these thoughts. We LET them come into our consciousness. We rest in the Presence, we think of someone enfolded in God's loving arms, we let go of all effort, and we rest some more.
  • Next we think of the Temple and all its members and friends.
  • We let our consciousness just expand as we bring these successive thoughts in. We are not reaching out to establish contact. We are bringing them into our own consciousness.
  • Then we think of our community, each soul a spiritual being in a physical body.
  • Next, the surrounding communities.
  • Now, the entire state. Every human soul, every plant and every animal.
  • Now consciousness broadens as we bring in these, one at a time:
      • United States
      • Mexico
      • Canada
      • Latin America
      • South America
      • Africa
      • Europe
      • Ex-Soviet Republics
      • Middle East, especially Iran, Iraq, Israel, Afghanistan
      • Asia, expecially Pakistan, India, China, the Philippines, Korea
      • Australia, New Zealand

We consider the whole world, full of God. God is the energy within every form. We know the weather and ecosystem is in Divine Order. Everywhere we look, God is.

When you feel complete, come back and move around gently. Here at the Temple, the time will be about 8:20 p.m. You may have gone through your meditation more quickly. It does not matter. Even 10 or 15 minutes in meditation will be helpful.
